The company shipped its first commercial production flywheel in 2004, and has sold and shipped more than 500 more since then.
The company's products are primarily sold by several of the world's leading manufacturers of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, among them Emerson Network Power (as the Liebert FS), Toshiba (as the Pentadyne VSS+DC) and, overseas, Socomec (as the Socomec VSS+ DC). The company also has multiyear direct supply agreement with a Department of Defense contractor for the purchase of more than 500 Pentadyne flywheel systems.
Pentadyne has been named to the 2008 Inc. 500 list and was named a 2007 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. The Pentadyne flywheel product for UPS systems has won numerous awards (click the stars next to "Awards" at the top of this webpage).
